Spring Workshop
HUGE!

The spring workshop was not only well attended but one of our best ever in output and flow. participants were greeted at the Yoderville location and shuttled in two sections to the Cosgrove
library for the power point lecture by esteemed presenter Mark Franke. Then also in two shifts they were introduced to the biodiesel brewing process (YBDC style) including hands on titration and brewing by all 25 registrants. People came from all over the country with a genuine interest in learning this craft from us, making this spring workshop very busy and successful. Members and participants worked side by side to produce many batches of fuel by the end of the day. Attendee John Bregoli took some fabulous pictures dui ring the workshop. The workshop last fall was workshop at YBDC was also a great success. Steve Fugate, President of YBDC (left) seen here introducing catalyst into the reactor and answering questions. The turnout was as expected at about a dozen attendees. People came from as far as Saskatchewan. The two day workshop is divided into basic on the first day and advanced on the second day. The basic section covers information on Bio-Diesel such as; environmental advantages, economic advantages, and advantages to our community. Also covered the first day were materials needed, equipment needed, and the procedure for brewing batches of fuel. The atmosphere at the workshop was
electrifying and Steve and company put together a professional and concise presentation. In the advanced section attendees who purchased equipment were assisted by YBDC members in assembling reactors to take home and begin brewing Bio-Diesel on their own. This was certainly an exciting prospect to see individuals heading off to perpetuate the very thing we strive to archive ourselves, independent production of a renewable energy source.
Travis had this to say...
"I was very glad to be part of the group that was in attendance at your CooP's workshop. It was very valuable and I refer back to that experience often as we layout plans to form our own Biodiesel CooP. I especially enjoyed the one-on-one chat time with the various experts on the finer points of everything from titration to WVO collection. Thanks so much for hosting us out at your place. By the way, the meal was excellent as well! :-)"
